First-time Environment Scan

First Environmental Scan: Entering the LivLive World

Once onboarding and privacy settings are complete, players perform their first 360° environmental scan — an immersive action that marks your official entry into the LivLive world.

Your camera interface guides you through a full rotation. Pulsing rings, animated glyphs, and optional haptics simulate a radar sweep, while narrative prompts like “access unlocked” or “welcome to the layer” transform your physical surroundings into the augmented LivLive grid.

This first scan does three things:

  • Anchors your geolocation

  • Calibrates your initial radar range

  • Reveals your first set of local XP zones

It also acts as a preview of how future scans function — activating zones, detecting drops, and unlocking quests.

First Reward Drop

As soon as the scan completes, a drop animation appears. Every player receives an initial $LIVE crate, but the contents scale by wristband tier:

  • IGNITE players may uncover one common crate

  • ICON players may see multiple crates, including rare chest portals

A brief cooldown visual follows, nudging you to keep exploring rather than repeating scans immediately.

Core Gameplay Function

Environmental scans are part of ongoing gameplay, not just onboarding. They are tied to missions such as:

  • “Scan 3 new zones today”

  • “Unlock your next radar tier”

As your level and tier increase, your scan range and clarity expand, unlocking deeper access to XP zones, drops, and quests.

Adaptive Worldbuilding

Scan data personalizes your early experience based on your environment. For example:

  • Dense urban areas may surface more XP nodes

  • Remote areas may highlight rare discovery quests

  • Certain drops may only appear when nearby zones activate

Scans also help filter out irrelevant content and can trigger early competition, such as racing others to unlock local zones first.
